Spend a little bit of time researching economics online. You may be surprised to find out all the different applications that economics effects. It is basically the study of society in regards to money and business.

First, let's look at the definition of economics. There are actually two different definitions. Depending on your industry, you may find a use for one or both of these definitions.

1. The social science that deals with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services and with the theory and management of economies or economic systems.

2. Economic matters, especially relevant financial considerations.

The first definition of economics is probably the one that you are most familiar with. This definition explains microeconomics and macroeconomics, which are often taught on the college level. Topics such as supply and demand are often discussed in an economics class. It is generally an understanding of how society alters the way that money flows within the country. We see that in times of war or turmoil, money and manufacturing change drastically. This is due in part to economics. The second definition deals in a broad manner, dealing with monetary issues. You may find this particularly usual in your field of study. Some types of industry economics are:

1. Health economics

2. Home economics

3. Medical economics

4. Business economics

5. International economics

6. Sports economics

So you may be studying the financial side of home making, running a doctors office, a business complex, or perhaps even a sports team. You will probably consider the number of employees, overhead, cost of production, and many other elements that make up the economic fabric of your company.
